On the left Bank of the river to the long sandy beaches at the foot of St. Sergius mountains in the late sixteenth century the Moscow Streltsy, particularly stepsine of St. Sergius of Radonezh, the temple was built. In place of the existing in our days of the building of the Cathedral, which once stood two wooden Church that burned consistently in 1774 and 1860.

In 1868 was consecrated a new wooden building of St. Sergius Church, built on a stone base. Modest architectural plan of the temple, reminiscent of a rural parish Church, was loved and respected by the townspeople. In 1933, after the destruction and closure of all churches and cathedrals, the little Church became the Cathedral of the Ufa diocese. From 1937 to 1942, the clergy of St. Sergius Cathedral were arrested and shot (for which the service is practically not carried out), but the temple "graciously" remained open to parishioners.
