In mid-August of 2006 on the Central street of Ulyanovsk hosted the first festival of blacksmith art on an international scale. Masters of the almost forgotten craft of the twenty-eight cities of Russia and abroad, among whom were honored artistic forging blacksmiths and young artists of metal, exchanging experiences, sharing the secrets of art and demonstrating their skills. For several days the city turned into one big forge: the eyes of the amazed public under the Molotov beats of the plurality of anvils was the Grand design, "Wind organ".
The authors of the idea that turned the Ulyanovsk in real Mecca for Kuznetsov, was made by local craftsmen blacksmith's house, with the support of the administration. Festival "Singing metal" was so colorful and festive that it was decided to hold such events every two years, thus opening a new page of blacksmithing skill. Further festivals were attended by masters from Italy, Poland, Finland, Australia and the Czech Republic, which gave the festival an international status.
The culmination of the festival was the installation of structures "Wind organ" height of eight meters and weighing about two tons with the emblem of the city near the building of the regional Philharmonic society.
