Returning to Vienna in 1327, Friedrich founded for Augustinian Church. The construction, which lasted 9 years (1330-1339.), managed by the architect of Lindtner. 10 years later, in 1349, the Church was consecrated.

Since 1634, the Church became a court lady. It was here married Maria Theresia and Franz of Lorraine, Napoleon and Maria Louisa, Franz Joseph and Sisi, and Rudolf and Princess Stephanie. The Church Palace remained until 1783, after which he became the parish Church of Vienna. In 1836 the Church took possession of the white clergy. The order of Augustinian she was returned much later – only in 1951.

The Church is not very visible from the outside, but looks quite rich inside. During the reign of Emperor Joseph II in 1784 the altars were removed, then the Church was restored in the Gothic style. A new altar was added in 2004 in honor of Emperor Charles I, which may soon canonicalize.

A true treasure of the Church – a silver urn that holds the hearts of many members of the Habsburg dynasty.
