The Church of St. Andrew in Vladivostok - a small dome of white temple located on Korabelnaya embankment near the memorial complex "Battle glory of the Pacific fleet, which was erected in honor of soldiers killed in the great Patriotic war. The Church can accommodate more than 40-50 people.
The decision to build the Church was taken in the summer of 2003 the command of the Pacific fleet. The solemn consecration of the Foundation stone took place in August 2004 and began construction of the chapel.
The main initiators of the construction was the largest naval structures: Toph, DVMS and the Federal state unitary enterprise and the Ministry of defence of the Russian Federation. The author of the project of the temple was made by the Architectural Institute of far Eastern state technical University under the guidance of Professor V. Moore and Central design Institute of the Ministry of defence of the Russian Federation.
In may 2005, on the eve of the 60-summer anniversary of Victory day, the Archbishop Vladivostok and seaside Veniamin held a solemn consecration of the chapel in honor of St. Andrew the Apostle. The inner part of the building of the Church is decorated with icons. On the icons you can see the faces of many men, for example, George, Fyodor Ushakov, Demetrius, etc.
The Church of St. Andrew became a successful completion of the appearance of the new building of the historical centre of the city.
