One of the most famous attractions of the city are Jelling Rune stones. This two stone runes - large and small - are engraved on them inscriptions of the tenth century. These stone runes were included in 1994 in the list of UNESCO world heritage site.

Next to the Rune stones are burial grounds and Church of whitewashed stone, the predecessor of the three wooden churches which were destroyed by fire.
