Khan's lake is located on the shore of the Azov sea and Beysugsky estuary, 55 km South of Yeysk, in the vicinity of the villages Jasenska and Kopansky. It's a vicious stagnant small pond, essentially lagoon, separated from Beysugsky estuary is long, narrow and low embankment.
The lake is fed mainly by precipitation, the inflow of rain and melt water brought by the river Ash, as well as waters of the Azov sea, which rolled through the narrow spit separating Beysugsky estuary and the sea of Azov from the Khan of the lake. The maximum lake depth of 80 cm, in dry years the lake dries up completely, exposing the salt bottom.
Khan lake is famous because of its bottom, for example, near the mouth of the river Ash, there are deposits of mud, which has healing powers. The legend says that many years ago the Crimean Khan founded on the shores of lake fortress, built his Palace and took in the lake muddy bath. Perhaps hence the name of the lake.
