The Grote Market is the heart and soul of the Polish town of Zamosc, one of the most beautiful European squares of the 16th century. Square in a square 100 meters 100 intersects with the city's main streets. Just at this place are all major activities of the city, here walks a lot of tourists and citizens.
Of most interest are the historical buildings located on a Large Market. This home features vaulted galleries, in which lived the most famous citizens: the courtiers, professors, and wealthy merchants. In the Northern part of the square are the so-called "Armenian house", named in honor of the Armenians who settled in the town soon after its Foundation. Five buildings in the Baroque style to the right of the town Hall, decorated with bas-reliefs and friezes, were built in the mid 17th century. The building belonged to different owners, and after the Second world war, the house moved to the state. Of particular interest to tourists is the Link House, decorated with statues of various characters from Greek mythology, as well as the House Parandowski with exquisite portals.
Today buildings are many cultural sites: the City Museum, the Museum of roads and bridges, modern gallery photos. Here are the city's main shops: book, gift, clothing stores. In summer, the biggest Market is and gastronomic center of the city with plenty of outdoor cafes and restaurants. The area is completely closed to traffic.
