Bird Park Photo: bird Park

The bird Park is one of the most visited tourist places in Bali, as Indonesia is famous for its flora and fauna. The Park is located in the Gianyar Regency, which is located on northeast from Denpasar, and covers an area of 20,000 square meters.

In this amazing place is a home to over 5000 animals representing over 200 species of birds. Among the feathered inhabitants of the Park there is a bird species not only in the archipelago of Indonesia, but also in southern Africa and South America.

Perhaps the most popular bird that attracts the most attention, is considered the Bali Starling, or Bali mynah. The Bali Starling is completely white, with dark ends of feathers and bluish rings around the eyes, occurs only in the Northwest of the island of Bali. Starling was inhabited by a strip of forest along the coast, but deforestation, mass trapping and export of starlings has led to declining numbers of these beautiful birds. Since 1970, the Bali Starling declared a protected species.

The Park is home to pink flamingos, IBIS, peacocks, parrots and birds of Paradise. Birds are almost tame, they can hold and take pictures, and feed, but only with the permission of Park staff. For birds created the most comfortable conditions – most birds cages if not absent, they are virtually invisible. And in order to recreate a natural habitat, in a Park planted plants from the native land birds.
