One of the most amazing waterfalls Bashkortostan is in the Archangel district and has the name of Atys, which translated from the Bashkir – "shooting", "beating". "Shooting" the waterfall is coming out of the grotto (Atissa cave) on the same surface of the underground river, escaping from the mountains Yash-Kuz-Tash. The waterfall, formed in the mountain millions of years ago by two underground rivers - Agui and Atys, previously had a stronger flow was erupted from a greater height. Over time (several thousand years), erosion of the rock, the stream came together and went down below. In the spring, when the content of the meltwater streams waterfall erupting from the rock about two meters and falls with a sheer height of the pool is a small lake. The diameter of the lake created by the waterfall, about twenty meters, and the depth in some places reaches up to ten meters. Atys, like all underground sources, has year-round water at a constant temperature (+4 degrees).
