The first stone Church on the site of Staritsky settlement was built for only three years – in 1558-1561. It was petertravel the temple on a high basement. The Church suffered greatly during the time of Troubles and dilapidated. In 1803 the Church was completely rebuilt, rebuilt.

The current dome of the temple attracts the attention of a beautiful attic, against which the very expressive Gables four-columned portico of the Tuscan order. The Church has two cold aisles: Pokrovsky and Mitrofanovski. Nearby stands the three-tiered tower, built in 1827.
