The zoo in the resort town of Blackpool in the UK was founded relatively recently, in 1972.
The zoo collection includes a variety of animals. There are elephants, giraffes, a pride of lions, Amur tigers, wallabies and kangaroos. There is an aviary in which there lives a family of mountain gorillas, and in 2010 they had a baby. On a walk through "of Lemuria forest" you can see different species of lemurs. The exhibition entitled "Amazonia" shows animals and birds that live in South America.
The zoo has a terrarium and cages with pools where sea lions and penguins.
In 2005 opened the exhibition "Safari with dinosaurs", which presents real size figures of different dinosaurs, but this section is great not popular.
Quite different is the case with the "Children's farm" - the aviary, where small children can touch and play with domestic animals: donkeys, sheep, pigs, llamas, pygmy goats and other. There is always a lot of visitors, which once again confirms the reputation of Blackpool as a family resort.
