Brest railway station was opened on 28 may 1886. The first version of the station was similar, according to his contemporaries, medieval castle with four turrets, which hid inside the water tower.

Brest has historically stood at the intersection of water and land. With the opening of the railway in the Russian Empire, it was decided to make the Brest station, the gateway to Europe and build it in front of foreigners was not ashamed.

The builders tried their best. Preserved rave reviews about how the station was well lit with electric lights (it was a sign of progress) and was heated by steam heating. At the opening of the Brest station was attended by Emperor Alexander III.

Brest train station was built for future expansion. The building area was about 4 thousand square meters, which at the time of opening the station was too big. However, already by the beginning of XX century trains departed from here in six directions: in Wlodawa, High-Litovsk, Bryansk, Kiev, Moscow and Warsaw.

During the First World war, the station building was completely destroyed by the retreating army. However, at the time when the Brest belonged to Poland (1919-39) the station was fully restored. Also rebuilt the facade of the building in mixing the styles of classicism and Baroque.

In the early days of the great Patriotic war in the station building was organized defense. After the war the station became a border station of the Soviet Union. The building it was decided to reconstruct and build a tall spire that gave him a resemblance with the Moscow University. The spire hoisted the exact same star, both at MSU. Spire height was 41 meters. The station was faced with marble from the famous fields of the country, and he became a sort of "marble Museum".

The subsequent reconstruction of the station held recently. Now the Brest station, which corresponds to the latest technical progress and international class comfort.
