The luxury hotel Boscolo, known as the New York Palace, located in the heart of Budapest, close to the Andrássy Boulevard, known for its boutiques and occupies a 19th century building, which combines the features of neo-Renaissance and art Nouveau. In front of the hotel stops the bus. The building itself was built as a pretentious office for insurance company of New York and on the project worked such masters as Hausmann, Korb, Jürgen and Porch. The interior is impressive vaulted ceilings with exquisite moldings and friezes, Italian furniture, spiral columns, exclusive decorative items, intricate lines, crystal chandeliers. The splendor of the decor emphasizes thoughtful choice of materials: velvet, brocade, satin, silk, bronze, gold, silver, wood, Murano glass.
The Boscolo is famous for "the most beautiful cafe in the world" New York on the ground floor. This place was the center of attraction personalities of Hungarian literature and poetry, almost from the opening 23 October 1894 and closed in 2001. After the reconstruction at the New York café was reopened on 5 may 2006 pompous in its original form.
