The Nyugati railway station Photo: the Nyugati Railway station

Western Nyugati railway station is one of three main railway stations in Budapest and perhaps the most beautiful train station of Budapest. From here trains go East. The name was given by the area on which it is located. Originally this place was just the first of a new railway station Budapest-vác, opened in 1846. And the construction of a new building, chaired by the company of Gustave Eiffel, was completed October 28, 1877. The difficulty of construction was to build new structures without disrupting the operation of the station and, accordingly, without destroying the old building. The Eifel has solved this problem through the construction of the pavilion on top of previous structures. After completion of all the old structures were dismantled.

In 1911 at the depot station was opened railway Museum in Budapest, which is the largest railway Museum in Europe.
