Cordoba Botanical garden is new Botanical Park located in a picturesque place on the banks of the Guadalquivir river. The Botanical garden covers an area of 5, 5 hectares.
This is a fairly young fleet, which was founded in 1980 on the initiative of a group of scientists and professors from the University of córdoba. In the Botanical garden of córdoba has a rich collection of flora samples from all continents.
The Park is the arboretum, which presents a large collection of trees and shrubs are growing here in the wild. Next to the arboretum is the rosary, which attracted a huge number of varieties of beautiful roses. There are also greenhouses where plants, homeland of which are in North and South America, and plants – flora of the Canary Islands.
On the territory of the Botanical garden is a Museum of Etnobotanica. The Museum gives its visitors the opportunity to learn a lot of new information about plants, tells the story of the evolution of the vegetable crops, the interaction between man and the vegetable world, about the ways and methods of breeding new crops used for many years. Three halls of the Museum are equipped with interactive panels and graphic displays, which shows all of this collected and the detailed, structured information. Special attention is paid to the importance and necessity of conserving the diversity of plant life on our planet. In the fourth hall of the Museum exhibitions are held plants.
