One of the most important museums of the city of new Delhi is the national Crafts Museum (NHHM) – was created for more than 30 years. Thought it is as a kind of ethnographic camp, where you could work as artisans from all over India, with the aim of preserving the identity of Indian culture and various areas of folk art.

The basis of the Museum was founded in the 50s of the last century. But to 80m years it had become a real craft center with huge collection of unique items made by folk craftsmen. And at the moment in the possession of the Museum is more than 20 thousand works of art, made in traditional styles typical of different regions of India.

The crafts Museum is a complex that includes exhibition galleries, workshops, research center, library, photo lab, as well as a small village, which is a structure remaining after exposure of 1972, when the territory of more than 2 hectares were collected different types of traditional village dwellings and temples. The walls of almost every house painted by artists who come to the Museum from all over the country specifically to showcase their art.

In the galleries presents clay, wooden, metal crafts, jewelry, made in different techniques. Textiles, woven, dyed and hand-embroidered, shawls and saris. The age of some artifacts includes up to 300 years.

A visit to the Museum will see new things and to learn to do wonderful things with their hands.
