One of the best zoos in Asia – national Zoological Park of Delhi is situated near the Old Fort and occupies more than 86 hectares with a population of about 2 thousand of birds and 130 species of animals that live not only in Asia but also in Africa, Australia and America.
The Park was founded in 1955, but was opened to visitors only in 1959, and since then has become one of the most famous zoos in the world. It was originally called the Delhi Zoo, but in 1982 he received the national status.

In addition to its rich fauna, the Park boasts a collection of more than 200 species of plants. And also it is a venue for numerous festivals and national festivals, dedicated to wildlife of India.
