On the Northern coast of the Corinthian Gulf, at the foot of mount Parnassus, is the small seaside town of Galaxidi. He belongs nomu Phocis and belongs to the municipality of Delphi. The picturesque town is famous for its long Maritime tradition and a long history, rooted in 1400 BC

The city is famous for its Maritime Museum, located in a historic building from 1870. For some time the Museum building was used as the town hall. Famous religious buildings of Galaxidi you can highlight the Church of St. Nicholas. Its predecessor was built in the 7th century BC on the site of the ancient sanctuary of Apollo, but was destroyed in the war with the Turks. In September 2008 the international day of Maritime navigation on the waterfront was a monument to sailor's wife, symbolizing the Maritime tradition of the city and the important role of women in families of sailors.
