The amazing beauty of the place - ness of Suuk-su - is located between the town of Gurzuf and the mountain Ayu-Dag in the territory belonging to the international children's center "Artek". Translated from the Crimean Tatar name of the Cape means "cold water".
At the base of the Cape Suuk-su, you can see the famous Pushkin's grotto. Beside it is the azure Bay, which is striking in its form and purity of water. The Bay is situated in the enclosure of rocks, now known as "the Rock Chaliapin" and "Pushkinskaya rock". Russian chamber music and Opera singer F. I. Shalyapin wanted to build a Palace for talented youth. Unfortunately, the dream singer has not come true because of the revolution and the civil war.
The upper part of the Cape Suuk-su is decorated with the ancient grey watchtower, which is located on the territory of Artek. According to historical records, the tower existed in the 6th century, in the time of arrival in this region of the Legionnaires of the Byzantine Emperor Justinian. It is still very often referred to as the "Tower Girei" in honor of one of the owners of those lands, or "eagle's nest" tower hanging on the edge of the cliff that resembles a nest. The tower was arranged a viewing platform, overlooking the picturesque panorama on the Rock Chaliapin, Ayu-Dag and adaları. Near the Playground there is a small monument to the famous Russian poet A. S. Pushkin. On the East side of the tower attached marble plaque with embossed lines from Pushkin's poem "farewell, free element".
