Goshavank monastery is a medieval monastery complex of XII-XIII century It is located 20 km East of the town of Dilijan, in the village of gosh, among the village houses and turbulent mountain rivers. The monastery was founded by the great philanthropist, theologian and a priest Mkhitaryan HaShem with the assistance of Prince Ivan Zakarian.
Originally the Church was called nor-Getik, which in translation from Armenian means New Getik. The modern name of the monastery was in 1213, after the death of the founder, Mkhitaryan gosh.
