Corral de carbon, or as it is called Coal Yard, located in Granada, near the Cathedral, on the street Maria Pineda. This former Muslim Inn, which was built during the reign of the nasrid dynasty, until 1336.

Corral de carbon is a historic building with internal courtyard, the entrance to which is made in the Mudejar style. This was once home to merchants and traders who had stayed there to wait. In addition, it was the location of the city market. When in 1531 the Inn was sold at auction, it has been used as a coal warehouse, after some time in corral de carbon was established guest house.

Throughout the 20th century corral de carbon was restored several times. In 1933, after its purchase by the state for the project Leopoldo Torres Balbas, in 1992 – under the direction of architect Rafael Soler márquez. In 2006 were again carried out extensive restoration work, which cost the state 56 thousand euros.

Extraordinarily beautiful main entrance, made in the form of an arch, decorated with amazing plasterwork. The courtyard leads to the lobby, which is crowned by a dome, decorated with swirls. The building of the house consists of three floors, each of which has a gallery with a stone column.

At the present time in the premises of the corral de carbon is the Council for culture of Andalusia and the orchestra of Granada.

In 1918, the corral de carbon was declared a national historic landmark.
