On the picturesque slopes of the legendary Pelion, known as the abode of the centaurs led the wise Chiron and the place where the unfolding of many events of Greek myths, dotted with charming villages. Small settlements with traditional regional architecture and numerous historical and cultural monuments attract its authenticity and the genuine atmosphere of cordiality and hospitality.

One of the most picturesque and interesting settlements, which is certainly worth a visit, of course, is Tsangarada. Just lush greenery, the village lies on the Eastern slope of Pelion, at an altitude of 400-450 meters above sea level, about 48 km from Volos town (the capital of the Prefecture of MAGNISIA).

The history of the settlement leads to 1500. Today Zangardi is divided into four districts – Agia Taxiarhis, Agia Paraskevi, Agia Stefanos and Agia Kyriaki, named after the eponymous churches located in their main squares. Walk through the cobbled streets of Zangardi with lots of greenery and flowers, numerous fountains, beautiful old mansions and churches will give you a lot of fun. In the square of Agia Paraskevi is one of the local attractions – huge millennial sycamore. In the shadow of its crown, the diameter of which is about 13-14 m, at a table in the small café where you can relax and have a snack. However, in Zangardi you will find quite cozy taverns and cafes where you can taste traditional local cuisine and a good selection of hotels and apartments where you can stop.

Lovers of long walks definitely worth a stroll through the picturesque surroundings Zangardi. Special attention deserve and located in relative proximity to Tsangarada the stunning beauty of the beaches Milopotamos and Fakistra.
