The one pillar pagoda (Chua ILO kot) was built by Emperor ly Thai Tong, who ruled in the eleventh century. According to the legend, who had no heirs to the Emperor dreamt that he met the Goddess of mercy sitting on a Lotus flower, handed him a boy-baby. The Emperor soon got married and had a son. In gratitude the Emperor and built this pagoda in 1049, the one pillar Pagoda.
