The construction of the pagoda Thien Mu began in 1601 when Joan Nguyen. Each of its seven tiers symbolizes the reincarnation of Buddha. In 30-40-ies of XX century, the pagoda was a Buddhist center of resistance to the French colonists.

The pagoda stands on the banks of the perfume river and its terraces offer stunning views of the surrounding area. For centuries, the pagoda was repeatedly destroyed and restored. Now live here five monks and seven novices.

On the right side of the pagoda is a pavilion, which houses a stele Dating from 1715, It is mounted on the back of massive marble turtle – the symbol of longevity. On the left side of the tower there is another pavilion, which houses a huge bell cast in 1710 and weighing 2052 kg.
