The Museum of the Karelian house” is one of the most interesting sights of Imatra. It is located in a picturesque place on the Bank of the Vuoksa river, near the city centre.
The Museum is worth a visit not only to those interested in the history of Finland. The life of the old Karelian village will not leave anyone indifferent. Directly under the open sky recreated amazing rural landscape of the previous century. with yards, distinctive homes, and various other attributes of the Karelian life. The Museum contains various buildings, the oldest of which date from the middle of XIX century., as well as a large number of lovingly collected pictures, unfolding before our guests live sketches of the life of the Karelian peasants of that time.

The Museum is open for visiting between may and August. Daily from 10.00 to 18.00, day off – Monday.
