Agora (market place) in quarter of Namazgah was built with Alexander the Great. However, what has come down to us is the reconstructed buildings of the times of Marcus Aurelius, after surviving the devastating earthquake in 178 A. D. In the 1920s and the 1940s, here archaeological excavations took place, in which were found the Corinthian columns and capitals, the remains of the three gates, sets of fragments of statues of Neptune and Diana, as well as hundreds of Ottoman gravestones. All that can here be seen at the present time.
