The monument to the Heroes of Eltigen "Parus" is located in a quiet and cozy resort village of Heroica (formerly Eltigen), located at the extreme southern point of the Kerch Bay.

The monument was opened on 8 may 1985, the author of the concept of the monument was made by sculptor and architect L. V. Toshiba. The Central part of the monument is of plastic composition "Sail". Monument to a height of 20 meters and a weight of 2 thousand tons of concrete on Portland cement.

A small village Eltigen became known throughout the Soviet Union in November 1943. thanks to the heroism of Soviet soldiers, which marked the beginning of the liberation of the Crimea. During the Kerch-Feodosiya operation on the night of 1 November 1943. the Crimean village of Eltigen, landed Marines, who took over at the small base, went down in history of the great Patriotic war under the name of "Tierra del Fuego".
