Nicholas Church in Ihare was built in 1747 on the means and with the support of Colonel P. A. Shcherbinina. Alas, a modest wooden structure with a bell tower not reached our days because of the fire.

The construction of St. Nicholas Church with a single altar was begun in 1890. Here he opened a parochial school. The beginning of the last century was very favorable for the parish Church in 1904 the reference book says the Kharkov diocese. It has information that the temple has a large farm, so the restoration of the Church was entirely secured.

After coming to power of the Bolsheviks temple again closed, and then again revived. The Soviet era brought the Church to ruin. Officially, the robbery was due to the confiscation of the values in the starving. From the magnificent stone buildings with crosses, bells and belfry remained little stone box, more like the "civic" building. In the period of perestroika were first attempts to resurrect the temple, shortly before the building was returned to the religious community. But all efforts gone.

The tireless work of father of the Novel helped start the revival of the Church from the ruins. Within a decade, until his death, he fought for the right St. Nicholas Church to exist. And now, today, on the outskirts of town, decorated with crosses ascending into the sky, the temple appears suddenly before the eyes, bewitching each with its special silhouette and original configuration of the domes.
