Cave Jelovica is 25 kilometers from Bijelo Polje and is considered one of the most beautiful and largest in Europe. The dinarides scientists refer to the youngest race the mountain to Alpine folding; geological age is not more than 65 million years. It is known that the process of mountain building in the areas of Montenegro has still not ended. In the rocky bowels of nature has created and continues to create unique beauty and scale of the cave with gigantic halls, rivers and lakes. For example, some of the arches of the cave of Jelovica reach a height of 30 meters.

Since 1987, Belgrade cavers began to explore the cave of Jelovica, this year is known as the year of its opening. Presumably, the total length with various offshoots of the cave is more than 200 kilometers. By 1997, ten years of study, scientists have moved deep into the cave for 10 miles and then the Czech speleologists have increased this number by a further 9 miles.

Cave Galovich long been in the so-called "unused condition". This is due primarily to its location: the entrance is located on the territory of Montenegro, however, the whole cave is on Serbian territory. None of the parties was in no hurry to invest in the development, fearing that someone would use someone else's achievements. Despite this, the cave of Jelovica continued to study experts from many countries and as a result, all unanimously came to the conclusion that this object is not just a unique phenomenon of nature, but it also represents a tangible speleological value.

The path to the cave goes from kolašin to the nearest to the cave of the settlement – the village of Jelovice. This journey lasts approximately a couple of hours from the village to the cave for another hour Hiking path. The main entrance to the cave passes over two lakes, called the Bloody Waters. In the summer they usually dry up.

Tours of the cave are included in the category of adventure tourism, therefore, to the descent are only for experienced cavers, well prepared physically and psychologically.
