St. Catherine's Cathedral is a historic monument in Krasnodar. This is the main Church of the diocese of Ekaterinograd and Kuban, he is considered one of the largest cathedrals in Russia.

First it was the Church of St. Catherine, which was built in 1814, with the participation of Archpriest Kirill Rossinsky. For a long time the Church was subordinate to the resurrection Cathedral and here service was held for the clergy. Later the Church began to start the laity, for it was instituted separate state.

In 1888 there was a terrible disaster derailed Royal train. Miraculously, none of the members of the Royal family were not injured. Construction was started in 1900, but due to the constant lack of money often stopped. Only fourteen years later in 1914 the high altar of the Cathedral was officially consecrated.

In 1934 the Cathedral became used as a storage room. In Soviet times, the authorities attempted to dismantle the temple for building material. Since 1942, the Cathedral once again started to take the service, though there was a military warehouse. In 1985 he was the reconstruction of the decoration of the Cathedral, were also supplied forged openwork gate in the style of an ancient Ekaterinodar. At the moment the Cathedral is fully working, it hosts the service and the Liturgy.
