All of this was to protect the residents of the capital and all over Japan from the plague. Surprisingly, these measures worked, and the plague receded. In gratitude, the residents took to the streets. Festival gion Matsuri was the prototype of the ceremonies held in other localities, and in some places even kept its name.
Yasaka Shrine is also known as Yasaka-Jinja Shrine and idol worshiping White.
