Military-historical Museum of the resistance fighters Morro de Arica is located in the historic centre of Lima, capital of Peru. The Museum was opened in 1975 in the house where he was born and raised Colonel Francisco Coronel Bolognesi. This building was built on top of solar on the site of the old mansion of the Governor Francisco Pizarro Juan del Mesa.
The main function of the Museum is to preserve the memory of the heroes who gave their lives in defense of Peru in the Pacific war. The Museum building has two floors and is divided into 12 exhibition halls.
On the first floor of the Museum you can explore the room Francisco Coronel Bolognesi, which contains samples of uniforms of those times, medals and other personal belongings Peruvian hero, who gave his life in the battle of Cape Morro de Arica in 1881. In the next room presents a collection of original photographs, documents and personal belongings of the family of Colonel Bolognesi. Located near expositions telling about the other heroes of this war - Colonel Sala Joaquin Inclan, Alfonso Ugarte and rock Saenz singing.
On the second floor there are: conference hall, which hosts the annual event in memory of those killed on 7 June 1881 in battle on the hill of Morro de Arica and marks the birthday of the Peruvian hero Francisco Coronel Bolognesi (November 4, 1816).
On the second floor you can also see the panorama of the battle of Cape Morro de Arica, the hall to the memory of captain Juan Guillermo Moore, who was responsible for the defense of the Fort del Morro, and the hall with samples of the weapons used by both Chilean and Peruvian patriots.
In the courtyard of the Museum you can see cannon, made in France, which participated in battles, protecting the canyon Arica in the Pacific war. One of the guns, stamps Voruz, weighs about four tons and presented with preserved original set of shells.
