Wat Chong Klang is located in the centre of town opposite Mae Hong son lake and Park Chong Kam, it reflected on the water image in the background of mountain scenery is the hallmark of the city and the whole province of Mae Hong SORN.
Near the temple is Wat Chong Kam, separates them just a small wall. As your neighbor, Wat Chong Klang is made in Burmese style, as in the period it was built around 1860, this area belonged to Burma. Cultural heritage is a temple is a collection of 33 carved wooden statues and paintings and stained glass Windows, depicting people and animals from Phra Versenden Jataka (the story of past reincarnation of the Buddha Gautama) with captions in Burmese language. According to historians, all the statues were brought from Myanmar (Burma) in 1857. On some of them survived the label that their author is known and revered artist Thai Yai from Mandalay.
