The silk Museum (Dar-El-Himma) is housed in a former mosque the Sfar. The Museum exposition tells about how in the nineteenth century Libyan Jews opened in Mahdia several silk-weaving workshops and how during the first half of the twentieth century, local craftsmen have become competitors "silk masters" from Lyon. It exhibits looms, garment, fabric and silk ribbon – rivals Lyon silk.
