Museum of Art "the met" in Manila specializes in classic and contemporary fine art. The Museum was founded in 1976 for exhibitions of international artists, and since 1986 it is also possible to get acquainted with the works of Filipino masters. In the exhibition halls of the Museum "Metropolitan" in different years it was possible to see works by Picasso, Glue, Walter Gropius and other artists. Every year the Museum organizes 4 major exhibition widely known local and foreign artists.
The Museum consists of 4 main galleries and several smaller exhibition spaces. In the gallery on the ground floor of the building you can see the products from the gold ages 8-13 (jewelry, ritual figures, etc.) and a collection of pre-Columbian ceramics of the period. The exhibition "Window to Heaven" showcases amazing Russian icons, and the exhibition "Aura: religious art represented religious subjects, executed manually by Filipino masters. Of particular interest is the exhibition, consisting of works by Filipino painter Felix Hidalgo who worked in the late 19th and early 20th century. Collection of contemporary art include the subjects of architecture, design, urban planning, etc. in Addition, the Museum plays host to travelling exhibitions from all over the country and from abroad, organizes educational projects and charity events.
The building also houses a shop "Metshop", where you can buy Souvenirs with symbols of the Museum, library and conference room.
