Quiapo Church, officially called the Minor Basilica of the Black Jesus of Nazareth is a Roman Catholic Church located in the Manila district of Quiapo. Today this Church is one of the most popular in the country. It holds particularly venerated statue of Jesus Christ is the Black Nazarene, which, in the opinion of many parishioners, has miraculous powers. The Church was painted in a cream color after the 1928 original building, built in the style of Mexican Baroque, burned to the ground.

In August 1586, the Governor General of the Philippines Santiago de Vera founded the district of Quiapo, Franciscan friars built the first Church made of bamboo. One of its founders was the brother of San Pedro Bautista, whose image can be seen on one of the side niches of the Church. In 1863 Quiapo Church was partially destroyed during a strong earthquake and was rebuilt only to 1899. As mentioned above, after only 30 years of age in 1928 the Church was burned almost to the ground, leaving only the walls and the bell tower. The restored Shrine miraculously survived during the Second World war, although all the surrounding buildings were almost completely destroyed. Until 1984, the Church was regularly rebuilt and expanded so that it could accommodate thousands of believers, and in 1988 the Church was consecrated as a Minor Basilica.

Today in Church we receive thousands of the sick and suffering, to see the statue of Jesus of Nazareth, in the hope that the prayer before the Holy image will help healing. Every year in January in religious procession "Traslacion": it begins in rizal Park at the Rostrum of Quirino and lasts all day. The procession carrying the statue Nazarani, goes to Quiapo Church late in the evening. To participate in this procession of tens of thousands of believers from across the country.
