North-Ossetian nature reserve – one of the main attractions of the Republic. Reserve with an area of about 30 hectares was founded in 1967 on the territory of the national reserve "Police". The main purpose of its establishment was to preserve and study the natural systems located on the Northern slopes of the Central Caucasus.

The main river of the reserve is considered to be the Ardon river, and the huge glacier – Officers (area of 10 sq km). Overall, cliffs, glaciers and scree employs over 70% of the total area of the reserve. About a third of the reserve is occupied by forests (mountain pine, maple and beech-hornbeam forests). From trees most often can be found here: pine Koch, Eastern beech, grey alder and birch Litvinova. There are also reserve and endemic species that are more characteristic of the Caucasus.

As for the animal world, in broad-leaved forests are the most characteristic: wild cat, ROE deer, pine marten, Caucasian Bialowieza bison, wild boar and red deer. In the mountainous parts of the North-Ossetian nature reserve you can see chamois, Dagestan Tur, ermine, and marten. Animals such as foxes, bears, lynxes, wolves can be found in all altitudinal zones of the reserve, and in the forests of the foothills, and on the rocks, and high mountain meadows and stony placers.

The reserve is the second largest in the Republic karst cave - Subi-Niassa with corridors and halls covered with stalagmites and stalactites. Of special interest in the reserve represent the following historical monuments: the cave towns in Nusle, Ursone, dzivgis there, Mesolithic Parking Shaw-Lagat in dzivgis there and catacomb burial in Arjona and Karza.

In the North-Ossetian nature reserve were developed exciting routes lasting from 3 to 10 days, to see two glacier - Officers and Skapski, the temple of XII century, waterfall Tsei gorge and many other places.
