Novosibirsk planetarium is a new modern complex which is a complex scientific and technical construction. In December 2006, mayor Vladimir Gorodetsky has considered this issue at its first meeting. The project of the future of the planetarium was designed by the architect I. Popovskaya. The initial project was divided into two parts. The first phase consisted of the construction of Astrophysical center, Park tower and "Foucault". The possibility of realization of the project started in late 2009, the Grand opening of youth center "Planetarium" was held in February 2012, the day of the celebration of Russian science.

The second room took: star hall, the two towers Observatory, the huge hall, classrooms and a café. The star room has a capacity of 114 people. Under the starry hall is a film and video Studio with film studios, equipped with modern equipment, capable of shooting in HD. From the second floor of the Novosibirsk planetarium, you can go to the tower of the Observatory, attached to the main building. In the halls of the first and second floors of the planetarium is a Museum with interactive exhibits that demonstrate the laws and phenomena of physics as well as models of astronomical telescopes and spacecraft.
