A native of Litovel Edward Schroth settled in Olomouc already in adulthood. He was a respected lawyer, well coping with criminal processes. In addition to the work in the scope of his interests was to participate in Amateur theatre productions and breeding pigeons.

Edward Schroth did not feel the need of money, so once wondered about building your own multi-storey houses, which could become a safe haven. To draft his mansion, he turned to the Prague architect and admirer of urbanism come to Skrivanek. For the construction of the Villa was chosen as a quiet, upscale area of Olomouc, located in front of zoster city Park. Skrivanek at the time, and it was 1923, was involved in the development of the local plan of Olomouc, therefore, gladly undertook the work of creating beautiful villas. He suggested that the customer structure with a gabled roof and projecting cornice. Windows had to alternate with lights on the facade, decorated in the style of sgraffito, it was possible to read quotes from the works of Jan Neruda and Svatopluk Cech. Such a structure in Patriotic style could not fail to please the creative person was Edward Schroth. All this was brilliantly brought to life by a team of designers and builders. The land acquired by the Meal, was divided into two parts. On the right side of the yard built the Villa, and left broke a garden with swimming pool and relaxation area, which was decorated with sculptures and gazebos. The Park was accessible from the terrace house.

In the late 30-ies of XX century the garden was confiscated and destroyed, and in its place built a house. Villa Eduardo Meal is considered a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. The current owner is now engaged in its restoration and repair.
