Palazzo Isnello, also known as the Palazzo Term d Isnello and Palazzo Sant'antonio al Cassaro, is an ancient Palace in the style of Sicilian Baroque, standing between the ancient street Cassaro and Piazza Borsa in the quarter of Kalsa in Palermo. On the arches dance hall, located on the front floor of the Palace, you can see the fresco "the Glorification of Palermo - one of the seven monumental images of the spirit of Palermo, the ancient city of the deity.
The Palazzo, which was built during the 18th century and finally completed in 1760, was designed by an unknown architect for the counts of Isnello and rulers Baucina – commune, obeying Palermo. The Palace, the main facade which faces the street of via Cassaro, was built with the amalgamation of six existing medieval structures. In the 19th century – until 1843 - lived historian Michele Amari, until I fell out of favor with the rulers of the Kingdom of the two Sicilies for his separatist and revolutionary ideas, which he expressed in the article about Sicilian Vespers. For this he was exiled to France. During the Second World war, the Palace was severely damaged hit him American bombs, but in subsequent years, restored. Since the 1980s, a dance hall and several other rooms of the Palace can be rented for various events, but the other rooms are private property. In 2006 on the Eastern facade of the Palazzo was placed a memorial plaque in honour of the 200th anniversary of the birthday of Michele Amari.
