The Grand gallery of evolution is part of the National Museum of natural history, but part quite independent and very interesting. It is situated on the territory of the Paris garden plants.
The predecessor of the Gallery of evolution was Zoological gallery, which the architect Jules andré was built in 1899. In 1994, the building was reconstructed, and now it has six thousand square meters of exhibition space. Here are seven thousand exhibits. The collection, which recreates the story of the evolution of living beings, beginning with the inception of life on Earth, is one of the largest in the world.
These vast spaces – a huge magnet for kids who love to consider animals. In the Great hall of the gallery the visitor is immediately confronted with the enormous "procession": effigies are placed so that the animals – from small predators to lions, giraffes and elephants – move the herd along the path of evolution. Perfectly transmitted color, muscle tension, dynamic poses. Professionals gallery attach particular importance to the precision of color and texture. For example, in 2008 New Zealand gave France a giant squid length 6, 5 meter specialists managed to keep the carcass, squid looks at visitors literally as a living (despite the fact that eye of his man-made).
The entire collection of the gallery is divided into three main themes: the diversity of the living world, the human impact on the natural environment and the evolution of life. One section only of the diversity of the living world is there are two floors, the first dedicated to the inhabitants of the sea, second living organisms sushi. In the section on human impact on living organisms, it is possible to follow the development of hunting, fishing and the domestication of animals, how did the colonization of the planet by man. And finally, on the fourth floor exhibits tell about the major milestones in the evolution, the achievements of genetics, modern views on the evolution of life.
There in the Gallery hall and endangered animals listed in the Red book. In the Hall of discovery has many interactive games and models to help children better understand what they saw and heard.
