Perast is located a few kilometres Northwest of Kotor. It is a city with an ancient and fascinating history. The first written mention of Perast date from the year 1326. It is considered that the first inhabitants of the city were pirates.

With 1420 Perast were in the power of the Venetians, the Board continued until the collapse of the Venetian Republic in 1797. Over the centuries, the management Board of the Republic the city was filled with churches, palaces, fortifications. Also active development of local sailing.

The peculiarity of the city is the fact that despite its coastal location, Perast was practically unaffected by the earthquake – all architecture of the building of the XV-XVIII centuries, perfectly preserved to this day.

Among the many ancient churches apart is the Church of St. Nicholas, located in the eponymous square. The Church was built in 1616. A modest facade conceals majestic and lush interior. Wood ceiling, in the style of Baroque carved altars of marble, and the painting of the painter Tripo Kokolia.

Near the Church of St. Nicholas can be seen 55-meter bell tower, erected in 1691. Still it is crowned with the bells brought in 1730 from Venice.
