Meadow, or Lake, the Park is a landscape Park of Peterhof. Is located South of Colonial Park, on the other side of the railroad tracks. An area of 85 hectares, of which almost 18 ha of nine ponds: Nikolsky, Samson, Ruin, Eagle, Mill, Round, Sapper, Church and Babigonskogo. Water from these reservoirs by Samsonievskaya channel is supplied to the fountains and cascades of the Lower Park and the Upper garden of Peterhof. The Park combines the ponds, fields and private gardens around the broken buildings, interconnected walking trails.
Meadow Park stretches from the North to the South to Babigonskogo elevated position, which is its highest point (80 meters). Consists of four independent parts, presented by the gardens at St Nicholas house, pavilion "ponds", Belvedere pavilion and "Mill".
Education Park is related with erection of the main architectural structures and the creation of ponds and covers the period from 1825 to 1857. All construction work was carried out under the supervision of architect A. I. of..., engineer M. I. Pilsudski and garden masters I. P. Erler and P. G. Arkhipova.
The Park is home to mainly birch, Linden, aspen, and white willows, lilacs and Acacias. Trees and shrubs are picturesque groups, and, like green wings, planted in rows.
The Park and its buildings were seriously damaged during the war, in our days gradually restored.
The first building in the Park was Nikolsky rural house out of wood. It was built in 1835. For him, Voronikhin received the title of academician of architecture. The architect was also built pavilion "ponds", "Mill", "Belvedere", "Ruin" and the Church of St. Alexandra, many bridges, dams, karolak, sluices, ponds.
Pavilion lakes, or Pink pavilion, was built in 1845 to 1848. Located at the beginning of the iron Samson channel, on the saddle between the Round pond and Samson pool. The pavilion consisted of two one-story volumes, connected by a small gallery, and a three-storey high tower court the colonnade of the Tuscan order, which served as the main observation platform of this part of the Park. Front of the southern facade was located pergola out of 16 monumental waterproof granite silvery-grey color, made by A. I. Terebenevym, and granite terrace semicircular shape with a lattice that has the paddles fountain pipes.
The pavilion was badly damaged during the war of 1941-1945. Preserved only platform with a retaining wall of granite gray, on which once stood the sculptural ensemble "Neil".
The Belvedere Palace is located in the southernmost area of the Park, on Babigonskogo hill. Erected in the years 1852-1856. The Palace was intended for the Imperial family picnics. The building stands on a massive stylobate of solid granite blocks. On the site of the stylobate from the East facade leads up two flights of granite stairs on the sides of which was previously installed 6 marble sculptures. This is the main entrance, accentuated by a portico with four granite figures, made by A. I. Terebenevym. The West side also has the entrance to the Palace with a small granite porch and four pillars of red granite.
The first floor of the Belvedere – runway cut through tall Windows. Its facade is decorated in the form of alternating wide and narrow rusty; the corners are marked by pilasters with Corinthian capitals terracotta hue. On the first floor was a Large hall, which contrasted with peculiar splendor, and the offices of the Empress and the Emperor.
The second floor is made like an antique painters use, to the first floor which plays the role of the foot. 28 granite columns with bases of white marble and ionic capitals are bizarre profiled entablature with architrave of marble. Between the columns are delicate iron grille. Floors colonnades and porches lined with mosaics.
Pergolas and garden front of the Palace staged a garden master P. Erler immediately after the erection of the Palace.
After the October events at the Palace was a holiday home. During the war, the Belvedere was badly damaged. 1953-1956 here was the restoration repaired and re-opened a rest home. Now here is the hotel complex.
