The name of one of the most famous Prague monasteries – Loreta – is closely linked to the House of the virgin Mary, which is now located in Italy. Hut, in which lived the mother of God, was dismantled and brought from Palestine in the Italian town of Loreto, which became a Holy place for many believers. In the Middle ages, people believed that the hut was moved to Italy itself. Among those who came to venerate the relics, were the Czechs. At about the same time there was a fashion to reconstruct such huts in different European cities. Therefore, the copy of House of the virgin Mary appeared in Prague. The work on the marble chapel of Santa Casa, in accuracy repeating the Cabin of the virgin Mary, led by the Italian sculptor D. B. Orsini. Inside is a silver altar, and the walls are decorated with frescoes, Dating from the XVII century.

This chapel is considered the heart of Loreto convent. All other structures were built around it.

Near the chapel is the Church of the Nativity, built in the Baroque style. In this Church the relics of the martyrs Felicissimus and Marcia. The bell in the tower of the Church were established in the late seventeenth century in Amsterdam and are still used by the monastic brethren.

Visiting the chapel and the main Church, as well as looking into the well right in the center of the courtyard Loreta, you need to go to the second floor of the gallery encircling the courtyard. There is a monastic Treasury, the main exhibit which is the monstrance "Prague sun", studded with diamonds.

Before leaving the monastery there is a small chapel where there is a sculpture of the crucified Wilgefortis. She is the patroness of wives who are unhappy in marriage.
