Close to major roads, on a small hill that is surrounded by rich on nuts, berries and mushrooms of the forest, is the village called Fiber. Near the village stretched the purest, mirror Benevskaya lake, and next to them is the longest in Palkino district the hill that bears the name of Venetia Mountain, reaching a height of 163 meters. But the pride of the Fiber is considered to be located here is the Church of Cosmas and Damian, which was built in 1909 and is still in effect.

Initially, the Church of Cosmas and Damian was built of wood in 1695. Only in 1909, the Church is unprecedented in disrepair, the congregation, and the priest John Shchekin decided to build a stone Church, still equipped with a bell tower, in accordance with the Church. The consecration of the new Church took place in the winter of January 27, 1909 Pskov Archimandrite of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky monastery named Ambrose.

The newly-built temple was made of red brick and over the years has experienced many misfortunes, after some hard hard the story of ruin and oblivion. Soon the Church of Cosmas and Damian was abandoned because they required repair work, because the Church walls were badly cracked, the plaster crumbled, and the interior floors and temple roof were completely rotten. 1 February 1962 the Church was removed from the register and closed. According to the petition Archimandrite Tikhon and the blessing of Eusebius Lannovskogo, the Church was again returned to the faithful parishioners, and its restoration was carried out with the help of parishioners and benefactors of the Pskov-caves monastery. The original Liturgy was held on 23 August 2004 and from that moment was held every Sunday and on days of great feasts.

The Church tower was located on the South side of the altar and had six bells, which were difficult legible inscriptions. The molded all the bells were produced in the city of Izborsk in the reign of Ivan the terrible.

In the Church of Cosmas and Damian, there is only one throne. In the temple once kept the old icon of the Sign of the Theotokos Greek letters. Around the perimeter of the Church is a cemetery.

In 1907 the Church Psalmist was appointed Alex Ilyin I., which after some time became a priest. Father Alex was born in 1876 in the village zabolotie, at the moment, Palkino district. 16 February 1938 Alexis was arrested, and on March 5, 1938 he was sentenced to death by a Troika of the NKVD in Leningrad region. During the great Patriotic war, the Church was again opened with the support of the priests of the Pskov Orthodox Mission. During 1944, the Church served as Cantor of Mosquitoes. The Church lasted until 1961.

In 2005, the Church installed a new iconostasis. Today it is a functioning Church.
