Church of the Intercession of the blessed virgin Mary is located on the steep Bank of a small river of Proa in the village Yelin. Along the perimeter of the Church the cemetery is completely overgrown with centuries-old trees. In the warmer months are clearly visible and bell tower, and Church of the dome, presented by the nave, and chapels, surrounded with lush greenery.

The earliest mention of the churchyard date back to the 16th century. The village Yelin belongs to former Ostrovsky County. The erection of the Church had on the 18th century, and the location for it was chosen in place of a pre-existing Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. For the needs of the service came a monastic monk, who watched the peasant farming operation on adjacent to the monastery lands. The exact date of the erection of the Church of the Intercession of the virgin Mary is unknown, but the earliest description refers to 1758, when the Church was two-altar, thus, was the main Church of the Intercession, and side – Nikolsky. Both temples were made of stone and it is not known exactly when they were built. On the St. Nicholas Church stood a wooden head, which was covered with scales, and also had the iron cross; the Church of the intercession was equipped with a wooden head and iron cross.

Judging on the Church from the architectural side, its planning structure consists of a quadrangle, with several sides: the North, South and West it adjoins the chapel, and two chapels – the chapel of the assumption, located on the North side, and St. Nicholas chapel, located on the South side. To the main Central part of the porch is adjacent four-storey bell tower. At the base of the quadrangle, there is an upper part, presents the basic design, the floors of which were significantly altered in the 18th century.

The Church of the Intercession of the blessed virgin Mary – temple without with support structures, faceted using a hemispherical arch. A smooth transition is provided from rectangular to octagonal vault created by the speed of tromps. On the wall, located on the North side, there are two window opening, the upper of which is made in the form of a circle and is positioned in the rectangular recess, and the lower opening is much larger and is equipped with an arched lintel. Church doors are made with a Lancet jumper. On the wall, located on the South side, all the openings are precisely arranged symmetrically to the North side. In the West wall there is rastocny doorway, a flat jumper. Two window apertures on a five-sided apse, are equipped with arched lintels and metal bars. The slab consists of torispherical arch. From the Eastern wall to apsidny faces are made of metal ties. Church floors are made plitnymi, and the Solea somewhat heightened. The floors of the quadrangle are also made plitnymi. Single space throughout the Church space is a porch with chapels. The overlap is made using a flat-Nakata. The window openings are fitted straight jumpers.

The overlap of the first tier of the bell tower is made using a groin vault. The decoration of the facades of the square has preserved a trace of the three divisions of the small blades, the remains of which are seen at every Church facades. The completion of the quadrangle made a stepped cornice. Round light drum has window openings, made in the form of an arch, which is located on all sides of the world. Temple drum is adorned with pilasters, and the wedding of the drum is made novoobranym cornice. Temple head – shaped and carries a miniature octagonal drum, which, in turn, carries a small cupola with a Apple and a metal cross. Four-storey bell tower is decorated on the first floor – niches, and in the southern and Northern walls cornices. The second tier of the bell tower presents round window, located on the West facade. The angles of the third and fourth bell tiers include pilasters, which are combined novoobranym cornice.

In the 19th century in the Church of the Intercession was assigned a house Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God, with five chapels. Currently the Church is currently active.
