Pokrovskaya Church in Rostov-on-don is one of the oldest temples in town. It is located in the heart of the city in Pokrovsky Park, at the intersection of Kirov Prospekt and Bolshaya Sadovaya.

Originally the site of the present Church was a wooden Church. In 1735 the Church was dismantled at the logs, each of which is numbered and transported to the fortress of St. Demetrius of Rostov. In 1930 the Church was demolished and in its place first, a fountain was built, and later the square was named after Kirov.
