Kruglinski historical memorial complex got its name by Kruzhilin, which is located in the upper reaches of the don. Despite the fact that the farm is located in the steppe hinterland, he is known worldwide as the birthplace of the writer Mikhail Sholokhov.

Some hundred years ago the place was wild, almost untouched steppe with tall weeds and grass on the slopes of the mounds, with bushes in the ravines and gullies, with mighty trees in the flood plains of the don and its tributaries. In fenced enclosures on the lands of the don Cossacks were grazing herds of horses. In the beginning of XX century the village consisted of about two hundred yards, in the centre there was a Church in honour of St. George, near the shops, the merchants, the rich representation of the Cossacks, shops, Church school. Here in 1905 in the family of a clerk of a merchant Paramonov – Alexander Mikhailovich Sholokhov, the future writer was born and lived his first five years, until the family moved to Kargin. Estate Sholokhov was located in the centre of the village, had a wonderful fruit garden, large yard, shop, bath, barn, stables. Manor house restored and is part of the Museum-reserve of M. A. Sholokhov.
