Radstadt is an Austrian town in the district of Sankt Johann in Salzburg province. The city is situated on the banks of the river, at the foot of the mountains. Radstadt is also called "old town in the mountains".

The area around Radstadt already in the 4th century BC, was inhabited by the Celts. Later, there was a Roman settlement. A place called Radstadt, mentioned in 1074, and the rights of the city he received in 1289, when the Pongau region became part of the Archbishopric of Salzburg. Gothic Church in the city was consecrated in 1417, hall appeared in the 16th century. In 1731-1732, the Protestant population was expelled, shelter, people were able to find only in East Prussia by the grace of king Friedrich Wilhelm I.

Today Radstadt is a popular tourist resort. The annual number of tourists is much greater than the number of local residents. Radstadt is a member of the Association of small historic towns. The surroundings of the city are famous for numerous small but picturesque castles such as castle Chandelier in the South-West of the city, or castle Largen 13th century, which houses the collection of the city Museum.
