The Church of Alexis the man of God was part of the complex of buildings of the provincial hospital. The hospital opened in 1866. Alekseevskaya Church dates back to around 1887.

District hospital was hall and on the specifics of the architecture and layout of buildings typical for railroad and County medical facilities. The Church was built with the help of a merchant of the first Guild of the city of Ivanovo-Voznesensk Novikov A. N., who was the meat trade.

Aleksey Church is a small-sized Church built in the Russian style, typical of the period of eclecticism. Its composition is compact with a low bushel bell type tent and a semicircular apse. The bell tower is connected to the quadrangle narrow short porch-transition. Smooth low plinth of the building is faced with white stone (of individual elements of the decoration of the facade). The corners of the square, is accented by clusters of small columns with capitals cubic shape, supporting a wide toothed eaves. On the side facades of the Church are composed of alternating layers of stone and brick elegant columnar frames of the two Windows, set high enough and ending in a semicircular innovative features that have keeled sharpening on top. In the pier between them is a vertical rectangular panel in its plane is the entrance portal, decorated with a massive archivolt keeled form, resting on columns of white stone. The decor of the porch and apse consists of similar architraves and crowning cornice with a strip of curb. To the lower quadrangle of the bell tower adjoins the lower side of the tent, it is surmounted by a quadrangular belfry. Profiled archivolt arches of the belfry and in his pants to the corner of the massive foundations of the applied paste of white stone.
The base is octagonal tent decorated with small keel corbel arches. The Western entrance portal has a weighted proportion. At the apex of the gable is placed Kyoto. It relies on faceted squat columns with cubic shape capitals.

After the Church was closed, the top of the bell tower and the temple has been lost, destroyed the interior, the Windows are bricked up. In the early 1990-ies the Church was given back to the believers. They have been repaired.

Today Alexis temple is a monastery of St. Nicholas shartunski monastery. In the spring of 1995 was held the first prayer. It was held by the Seraphim with the blessing of Archimandrite Nikon, Abbot of the monastery.
